Our next Walk+Talk meetup: Saturday 23rd March / 930am / Mit Milch, Hythe

Because grown men need friends too

Folkestone Fellas is a community for men in Folkestone and the surrounding areas to make new friends. Making meaningful new friendships as a grown man isn't easy - and with loneliness becoming a real epidemic in our modern world, the impact of this reality on the mental health of men is real.Whether you want to hang out in on whatsapp community, or join us for our in person meetups - we hope Folkestone Fellas can be a place for you to find your people.

Things for you to know

🧠 Our meetups are not a replacement for therapy.
We’re proud of creating a space where men can come along and talk openly about their lives and their respective challenges with other men in a judgement free environment. But you shouldn’t consider this a replacement for seeing a therapist if that is what you need.
🍻 We’ll never organise “official” events based around alcohol.
Our official meetups will encourage a big chunk of our community to come together at one time, and we just don’t think alcohol is helpful with our mission and the context in mind. If people want to use the community to occasionally self organise going for a pint, we won’t be standing in your way.
🖐️ Our community is both free and volunteer run.
We don't want money to be a barrier to getting involved, so the majority of what we do will always be free to attend. As such there is no-one who benefits financially from FF either. Our volunteers are a collection of people who’ve found immense value in what we do and want to further our mission. Please be aware of this when you make demands or place pressures on anyone involved in this group.
👨🏿 We are for all men.
Regardless of age, sexuality, race and anything in between, we want to make our community a place that welcomes men with open arms, regardless of how they may differ from others. We’ll ruthlessly protect our members and will have a zero tolerance approach to abuse of any kind.
📢 Promote yourself without taking the piss.
We want to create a supportive community - in particular taking every opportunity we can to support the endeavours and businesses of our members. So we encourage you to use the community as a platform to share what you do. However this should be done so sparingly. If you've got ideas for involving the community we're all ears!
